I Love Ice Blended: A #PerksOfABella Experience



Last Sunday, June 14, 2015, due to my baby's irregular sleeping time these past few days, we were not able to wake up early to attend the 8am service and therefore chose to attend the 6 pm mass at Paco Church. After the mass, my sister said that she wanted to try Coffee Bean and asked me if I brought my BDJ Planner. Of course, my answer was YES! as I always bring the perks of a bella pamphlet that goes with my Belle De Jour Power Planner. 

We were just 15-minute jeepney ride away from Robinson's Place Manila so I therefore texted my mom that we will go to the mall but we'll still take the dinner at our house "only a bit late". I didn't want to ruin my mom's current enthusiasm on cooking dinner for us every Sunday. She might get upset if we will eat our dinner out doors without her being told so. 

When my mom, positively responded on my message we immediately made our way to Robinson's Ermita and directly headed to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf which is located at the second floor on the Midtown Wing. 


In the photo is my cousin Akilah, who always accompanies us on our weekly bonding. This time, she stated that she also wants to try CBTL for she grew up drinking cream-based frappuccinos from another coffee brand.

Though it wasn't my first time in Robinson's Place CBTL, we still took time in ordering because I had to explain to my sister which are the coffee based and the cream based ice blended that I've already tasted. 


We were greeted by a very accommodating and patient staff.

And since I have a #PerksofABella discount coupon, we utilized it. Tadaa! We were able to get 3 ice blended drinks for the price of 2.

We only paid 380 pesos for 3 Large Drinks. We really saved a lot paying for these
mouth watering Ice Blended Drinks. (Oh! Apologize for the crumpled receipt because my baby snatched it from me when the staff in the counter handed it. hihi :) )

And here's a quick review of what we had that night.
I went for my favorite CBTL Ice Blended - The White Chocolate Dream
CBTL's Description: A cup of bliss. Coffee Extract and dreamy White Chocolate blended with ice and non-fat milk topped off with a fudge ribbon

My Verdict: This is my favorite drink in CBTL, it has the right mix of coffee and white chocolate in it. The sweetness level is enough for my taste buds and how it is smoothly blended makes me regularly crave for it. haha!


My sister's drink: The Original Mocha

CBTL's Description: Mocha lovers, you'll be in heaven… Our delectable Special Dutch™ Chocolate and Coffee Extract blended with ice and non-fat milk.

My Verdict:  True to what they state, this mocha drink will make every mocha lover ask for more. If you love strong mocha coffee taste then this is not for you. (but of course, you can ask the barista to have your drink "double shot") But for those who wants a weaker punch, with a single shot, this is more than enough to indulge with.


I am telling you, this kiddo loves coffee. Ahaha. Though CBTL offer's cream based drink, Akilah still opted for something with a slight coffee taste when asked. We ordered Double Chocolate for her, which from the name alone she already got giddily excited to have. Who wouldn't love chocolates!

CBTL's Description: Our rich and creamy Double Chocolate Powder and our Coffee Extract blended with ice and non-fat milk gives you twice the chocolate-y goodness.

My Verdict:  Upon sipping on this for the first time, I instantly fell for it. You can almost not taste the coffee in this drink, just the smoothness of the chocolate and the creamy non fat milk with a savoring whipped cream. It is now my third favorite drink (with White Chocolate Dream ice blended on the top of my list, followed by Moroccan Mint Tea Latte, and this ^_^)

To be honest, when it comes to drinks' sweetness I prefer CBTL than any other coffee establishments. Though overly sweet coffee taste is what seems to be more appealing to many Filipinos, I salute CBTL to standout among the rest. They offers this distinct blend of coffee and non-fat milk with the extra additives based on what their coffee menu offers. A coffee drink that even kids can tolerate. They serves enough coffee kick that everyone can have as is or have an option to ask for more coffee shot.

Another thing I love in CBTL is their cozier atmosphere and set-up compared to others. For me, I love that they are less congested most of the time (hehe!) therefore making it a more perfect spot to chill, relax and read a book or just look around and have peace of mind.
