The local dog community are invited to join the "Second Team Kovu Dog Sport Cup" (the first ever human and dog outdoor adventure challenge), this November 28, 2015, Saturday, to be held at the Greenfield City Sports Field in Paseo Center, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
The event is mainly for the benefit of the non-profit animal welfare group based in Cebu called Island Rescue Organization (IRO) whose aims is to save and protect animals from inhumane treatment and to promote healthy living environment for them and to advocate on the development and reinforcement of effective animal laws. Ms. Nena Hernandez, IRO's Executive Director, will be sharing their advocacies during sport cup and will encourage the local dog community in the metro to extend help in sustaining their noble cause on the south side of the country where "dog fighting" are illegally practiced.
Aside from raising funds, the main feature, "Team Kovu Challenge" of the dog sport cup will be officially launched to the public. This will be the first ever outdoor adventure challenge in the country that requires both the human owner and their pet dogs participation in every obstacles. Based on the real-life experiences and trainings of the members of the Team Kovu (a group of dog owners who performs adventure activities together with their dogs, eg climbing mountains, river trekking and exploring beach get away), the challenges are designed in the most Filipino way and that is making use of bamboos instead of the usual obstacles materials used in dog training and sports. This particular challenge will have 8 obstacles to accomplish and 1 surprise special task that will be given by the coordinators and sponsors during the event proper
This challenge is open to all dog breeds of all sizes that are already 6 months old and above and with complete vaccination. For the dog owners, there is no age limit that is set as long as he or she is fit to go through the obstacles or without any risky health conditions. Even children below 13 years old can participate in the Team Kovu Challenge as long as their guardian is present during the event. There is no rigid training experience required to overcome the obstacles as they are specifically designed as a human and dog bonding activities. The strength of the human and dog's relationship, communication and bonding will be the key factor in winning the coveted crystal cup and to be the first ever Team Kovu Challenge champion.

- To eradicate the misconceptions that bulldogs are dangerous, Team Kovu is calling every bulldog owners to come out and show the world who they truly are as pets and let's help the community understand and appreciate them.

TeamKovu Enterprises was leagally established in March 8, 2012. However, the concept before its legal formation starin the cted a year earlier, February 11, when Carl Michael G. De Leon and his personally trained American Bulldog named Kovu passed the qualifying trial to compete in the official Philippine Mondioring trials. The "Carl and Kovu" tandem had been well known since 2007 in the dog community as they are regular participants on dog events happening within the country.
Team Kovu's reputation was not only being competitors in different dog sports events but also by doing adventure activities like trekking, mountain climbing and travelling and exploring different places in the country. With their popularity and extraordinary tandem backed by their 9 years of professional dog training experience, they had been featured already on numerous TV shows and magazines.
Aside from conducting dog training classes, they also do specialized seminars on proper human to dog communication. They promote active human and dog lifestyle by providing new exciting avenues on which both can spend quality time together and to further bring their relationship to further heights.
