"When you hear the word "Quezon", what is the first thing that comes to your mind?"
Ask this question to a Filipino, who lives in Metro Manila and he'll probably blurt out another question as a reply: "Are you talking about the Avenue or the City?"
Ask this question to a history enthusiast, you'll get Manuel L. Quezon, the second president of the Philippines.
Ask me this question a few months back, I would give "Ama ng Wikang Pilipino" (Father of the National Language).... but after I tasted the newest Spanish-Filipino restaurant, my answer now would be "Oh! They serve delectable buffet in a very affordable price, you must visit them and try it for yourself!" [while I recall the mouthwatering and appetizing lunch I had that day on an ambience of old-world charm and rustic appeal].

noodles, fresh salads, flavorful soups and dessert selections.
Much of the inspiration behind this
effort came from their collective ideas to acknowledge the deep historical
connection during President Quezon’s era, and this is through sustainable
cooking of exquisite dishes. Here are some of their noteworthy specialties that
will make you come back for more:
The Appetizer Station
Quezon's appetizer section truly sets the mood for a great starter as they include Filipino classics like tokwa't baboy and lumpiang ubod plus the salad bar that comes with varieties of sauces giving a flavorful tongue-teaser. They serves Salad with Pako
which is an edible fiddlehead ferns that is very popular in Baler, Aurora – where
President Quezon was born.
Salad with Pako
The Main Course
This main dish station includes different entrees to choose from. All are freshly cooked and served hot that truly invites the senses (The overall appearance and the smell of the cuisines are delightfully appealing)
Here are my favorite entrees that among their menu:
Regarded as the centerpiece in Quezon, their lechon station presents a variety of savory meat roasted to perfection served with its special sauce. Entrees here are tender to bite and rich in flavor that will surely win the hearts of diners across all ages.
The grilled entrees are so tempting as the Angus tapa steak are indeed from a quality beef gourmet as evidenced by its rich taste while the Pork BBQ has this smokey taste that grilled lovers will surely come back for more. The grilled vegetables also did justice to its grilled state without losing the rich texture and taste that they naturally have.
Sisig, an extremely popular dish from the province of Pampanga, is made from chopped meat seasoned with vinegar and peppers and other spices. Quezon serves 3 variants: bangus, pork and chicken sisig. As a sizzler, I felt ecstatic when I saw this, as if I am having a sisig party!
Seafood lovers will take delight in this Shrimp dish, Gambas, a recognizable
entree in Filipino-spanish cuisine. “Gambas” in Spanish pertains to prawns and is considered being both
appetizer and a main dish. Quezon highlighted
the versatility of this dish with a marriage of sweet, salty, and spicy
concoction.
Hailed as the king of every spanish gathering, Paella is a
mixture of rice with seafood and vegetables served in a typical flat pan from
Mediterranean Spanish Coast. Here in Quezon,
it is traditionally cooked with homemade fresh broth that will gratify your hunger
The Desserts Station
The best way to end a delectable full meal is to have a taste of Quezon's sweet treats that varies from fresh fruits, chocolate brownies, the all time Filipino favorite Leche Flan, Ube Panna cotta and a classic Pinoy kakanin called Palitaw.
Turon is one of the popular
desserts catered in the Philippines. Quezon
preserves its traditional way by wrapping the saba in lumpia wrappers with a
twist of langka syrup on the side.
Honestly, I was really satisfied on how Quezon presented this native delicacy. Even without the langka syrup it taste pretty great. The banana (saba) was not overcooked and the sweetness is enough to compliment the natural saba taste.
Seeing Palitaw (a native Filipino rice treat) at Quezon's dessert station made me so gastronomically amazed as I've been missing this for ages. Quezon didnt fail my cravings as the palitaw's dough is soft to eat and is covered with just enough grated coconut.
Completing their dessert station, are the frozen treats that allows a guest to mix and match according to their individual taste preferences (They can either have make their own halo-halo or have a serving of mais con yelo (shredded corn) or banana con yelo)
The kid inside me jumped with joy knowing that Quezon have this ice cream vendo that are separately flavored as avocado (left) and Vanilla (right) - though they provided a mix serving of these two flavors (middle), I preferred having them separately as I wanted to savor each distinct taste.
As expected Quezon's ice cream is milky, tasteful and have the texture that reminds me of a home made ice cream. Oh did I already mention that the avocado taste so good that made me for another round. (I topped it off with their chocolate brownies that sweetly satisfied my taste buds)
